Speaker Bio
James Rafferty is a 33 year veteran of the casino industry and currently serves as Vice President of marketing for Peninsula Gaming Dubuque Iowa. Peninsula Gaming owns and operates 3 casinos and one racino up and down the Mississippi. Early next year Peninsula will open the Kansas Star in Mulvane, Kansas. From 1988 to 2001, he served as senior vice president of corporate marketing for Harvey's Casino Resorts in Lake Tahoe. He also has held senior management positions with Summa, Harrah's, Showboat and Delaware North Companies. He has written extensively about casino marketing and management, and has consulted of those subjects throughout North America. Rafferty is currently president of New Hampshire Charitable Gaming LLC. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a master's degree from Rutgers University.

Updates, Developments, and Operations of Racinos
SIGNATURE SERIES: State of the Industry: Racinos Room: N117 ~ 9:15 am - 10:15 am (Tuesday, November 18, 2008)
With explosive growth in Pennsylvania and Florida, it would seem racinos are on a roll; but looks can be deceiving. This session will examine these new jurisdictions, as well as established states such as Iowa, Delaware and others. Possible future expansion in from Massachusetts to Mexico also will be considered.
